Cala Bona - Majorca Travel Guide

For a perfect sunshine family holiday in Majorca.

The kids will have fun. And so will you.

•Cala Bona. This charming former fishing village with narrow streets and working harbour and makes a perfect spot for a family holiday in Majorca.

•Cala Bona is busy enough that there is always something going on without being too lively. It welcomes the British but has fortunately kept a distinct Majorcan flavour.

•A sunshine family holiday in Cala Bona will give you the opportunity to relax on lovely beaches, dine under the stars at the local harbour, enjoy scenic boat trips, visit local markets or just chill around the pool. And it's only 2 hours from the UK.

•The harbour and promenade at Cala Bona play host to shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

•The kids will find lots of other children to play with and the beaches are clean and safe with clear shallow waters.

•The beaches in Cala Bona. There is a good choice of beaches at Cala Bona and Calor Millor over a 20 minute walk or so; with over 4 miles of golden soft sand beaches lapped by crystal azure waters and shaded by thatched sunshades and palm trees.

•The beaches include Lavante beach and Estany beach.

•The beaches plays host to sandcastle building families, sunworshippers of all ages, and keen windsurfers. There are life guards on the main beaches.

•Things to do in Cala Bona. Over to one of our happy holidaymakers: “We definitely want to come back. It was lovely. Horseriding available just up the road at Rancho Willy's - highly recommended. We enjoy two x 1 1/2 hour hacks up into the hills, through sugar canes etc. Beautiful scenery... The sea is shallow for quite a distance so great for the kids. Cala Bona so pretty at night time. The harbour area is just gorgeous and there is a little fair with go karts and trampolines with harness that catapults the children into the air and back down onto the trampoline again. They were bouncing higher than the trees it was brilliant. There is so much to do and we had a wonderful wonderful time.”

•Excursions in and around Cala Bona Glass bottom boats trips to either north Cala Ratjada or south to Porto Cristo. On most trips the boat will usually stop for about 30 minutes so you can jump into the sea to cool down or snorkel.

•Fantasy Park is great for kids. It has inflatables, rides and an outdoor play area.

•You can walk to Cala Millor, S'Illot and Son Servera.

•The pretty bay of Sa Coma is also nearby.

•The capital city, Palma, with its beautiful architecture, smart shops, lively street cafes and markets is a great day out.

•And there are some great shops to visit in the resort. Check out the Monday market in Manacor and the pearl factory.

•Or enjoy a good walk to the Punta de n'Amer nature reserve and the 17th century watchtower. Enjoy the incredible views and take a rest and enjoy a drink at the top.

•Visit the spectacular Caves of Drach and look at the amazing stalactites and stalagmites

•When is the best time to visit Cala Bona? May - October.

•Diving in Cala Bona? There's a diving centre in Cala Bona called Albatross Diving and is opposite the harbour.

•The best restaurants in Cala Bona? One thing all our holidaymakers agree on is that the choice of food here in the cafes, bars and restaurants is excellent, family friendly and great value. Both Melis and Xaloc restaurants get top reviews, as does a sandwich and pastry shop called The Sweet Shop. Let us know which was the best restaurant in Cala Bona when you get back.
